How do our beliefs affect our health?

What is potential? We frequently use this word at Revelations Center, yet what does it mean?
It is the inherent ability for coming into being; refers to a currently unrealized ability.

Each of us are born with a unique potential, however often times we lose our connection to these innate gifts due to external beliefs, through the reinforcement of others actions and behaviors, as well as societal expectations and social norms. Reconnecting to what is true for YOU allows you to step into your authenticity through genuine action and communication.
Our health is a direct reflection of our patterns, beliefs, and experiences. When we connect to our highest potential we experience and perceive health differently... more congruently. We begin to take responsibility and ownership in ways we never knew before. When we begin to recognize that our body is a vehicle of expression we acknowledge it's signals differently. Imagine our physical body being like an actual car. It allows us to have this physical experience, assisting us in getting from point A to point B. When the gas gauge signals that it is low on fuel we have the choice to refuel the tank (OR NOT). Our physical body signals in a very similar manner. However, our human nature has a tendency to override it's intention with other forms of justification and/or self deprecating beliefs (believing that we are somehow "broken" or "flawed").

The truth is we are WHOLE beings. We are comprised of a physical body, mental body, emotional body and spiritual body (soul). We are responsible for nurturing each of these in a wholly and harmonious manner. When one or more are out of balance and are needing a bit more acknowledgment it will demand attention through a facet of health ailments. Imagine each of these bodies being like a child... when they get hungry and tired they let you know in a multitude of ways. They are not always sensical or rational but they find ways of getting your attention.

So, when understanding metaphysics and acknowledging that all physical manifestations have an underlying mental/emotional/spiritual link we begin to process our experiences differently and have the opportunity to take action that is more congruent to the alignment of these bodies. The result of this action is WHOLENESS.

Growing up I was an "average" sick kid. Looking back the truth was I was a SICK kid! I had the "typical" conditions, such as regular colds and congestion, tonsillitis, recurring ear infections, chronic constipation, migraines, acne, mood swings, motion sickness, depression, anxiety... the list goes on. When maturing into the adult body I found these types of experiences in my physical body to be normal. It came with the territory, right? I came to understand my body as being flawed in many ways. I just wanted to be fixed. The only solution I was being provided by the outer world was SUPPRESSION. Suppress your pain, suppress your symptoms, suppress, suppress, suppress. I became a professional suppressor. When you adopt this belief it no longer applies only towards health, it is all encompassing. I began to suppress my desires, inspirations, creativity, divine love, divine gifts, intuition... I was literally dying.

Somewhere along the way I chose to acknowledge the awareness that were being provided by my guides and angels. I will not lie to you, initially I was scare s#@*less! By truly honoring this truth that required me to take personal responsibility on some level for all of my experiences. Holy cow it is way easier to blame others! Right?! I now understand that it may be "easier" but it prevents us from experiencing pure love, pure joy, pure health, and pure freedom.

This is a process... patience and guidance on this path of awareness, in my opinion, is essential. When we've operated through societal standards for majority of our life stepping into this new way of navigating takes a lot of persistence. For goodness sake it took a lot of persistence to acquire societal standards as your norm to begin with so please give yourself some space. I know this very deeply and personally. I didn't grow up with this concept and understanding and even when developing the awareness around this reality it wasn't over night that I let go of all these old, dysfunctional beliefs and patterns. It has taken me years and will continue on. It is a life-cycle.

The best advice I could give you is to find accountability from outside your current, everyday relationships. For me I found the guidance and support of a life coach who was doing the exact opposite of me. He was intuitive, creative, authentic, inspiring, honest and loving. I knew if I wanted to create change for myself then I would need the living example of it in my life. Actions are more powerful than words, people. Find someone who walks the talk! Find someone who is passionate about humanity, vulnerable, compassionate, unconditionally loving and intuitive. This IS a viable stepping stone to expressing your highest potential.

Namaste
