​Flotation pods provide a unique environment that leads to a more profound relaxation experience. Being in a weightless, noise and light free environment provides the body, mind, and soul an opportunity to heal through pure relaxation. Due to the constant pressures of life, our mind and body operate in a fight-or-flight response majority of the time. Living in the constant state can create imbalance and dis-ease. Removing sensory input offers your mind and body the realization that you're not running from a saber tooth. It offers the brain a second (3600 seconds to be exact) to relax and access its creative resources;  it also allows the body an opportunity to lower cortisol levels (stress hormone) and release elevated levels of dopamine and endorphins (happy hormones).

RELAXATION RESPONSE

Float therapy suppresses the sympathetic nervous which is the system responsible for the fight-or-flight response. When this system is deactivated the parasympathetic nervous system becomes activated, allowing relaxation and healing to occur. This relaxation response provides a decrease in muscle tension, decreased blood pressure, decreased cholesterol, decreased stress hormones, and increased endorphins.
PAIN MANAGEMENT
Back pain, neck pain, inflammatory joint issues (arthritis, rheumatoid), tendonitis, bursitis, inflammation, psychosomatic pain relief are all documented results from regular pod use.
ENHANCED HEALING | RECOVERY | REJUVENATION
The near weightless environment of floating allows the muscles and joints to fully relax, increasing circulation, providing an increased ability to promote muscle repair, prevent adrenal fatigue, and increase detoxification/elimination. This environment has also been shown to speed the healing of sprained joints and broken bones, sometimes up to twice as fast as without float therapy.
ENHANCED SLEEP SCHEDULE
Float therapy has had much success in assisting those with sleep disorders, such as insomnia. About 40 minutes into our float experience your brain transitions from its normal Alpha/Beta waves to a Theta brainwave. Theta waves are responsible for natural self-healing processes, lowering stress and anxiety levels, increasing memory and concentration, as well as activating intuition and creativity. Due to this shift, one hour session of float therapy is equivalent to 4 hours of restorative sleep.
