FLOATING FAQ'S

Preparing for your Float

WHAT TO KNOW...
  • New Float Clients must arrive 20 minutes before your appointment time to be provided a tour of the Float Therapy area and floating process. Those who arrive late will need to reschedule.
  • Complete and bring all the New Client Waiver with you to your initial visit; this will assist us in starting your session on time.
  • Avoid shaving, tanning, waxing, or anything else that may create sensitivity to your skin for at least 8-12 hours prior to your appointment.
  • We will provide an ointment to apply topically to protect any cuts and scrapes from stinging.
  • We ask that you do not schedule your float appointments immediately following a hair coloring or spray tanning.
    • RULE OF THUMB: Shower water must run completely clear and there is no residue left on your towel after washing; typically 2 weeks is required to set color prior to floating, however if your tan/color is still marking your towel please do not float. Otherwise, you may be liable for damages incurred within the flotation pod. Please contact with any questions.
    • Fashion Color is not permitted.
  • You're encouraged to avoid caffeine for at least 4 hours before floating, in order to experience relaxation at its finest.
  • FEMALES who are experiencing their menstrual cycle the day of their float are required to reschedule their appointments. We apologize upfront for any inconvenience.
  • We recommend that you eat a light meal about an hour to 90 minutes ahead of time to prevent stomach rumblings.
  • You will not be permitted to float if under the influence of any drugs or alcohol.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED...?
We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing that is easy to get in and out of. Due to the high levels of salt in the Float Room we encourage you to not wear your "best clothing."

We encourage you to float nude for the greatest experience. The Float room is completely private.

We will provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, ear plugs, and q-tips. Please provide your own towels, however we will have towels available for a minimal fee, if necessary.

You may also want to bring a comb/brush, flip flops, and contact lens case, if necessary.

WHAT TO ANTICIPATE...
After your tour and explanation of the floating process you will put in your ear plugs, remove your makeup,  take a quick shower to rinse off any oils, lotions, conditioners, hair gels, etc. Once your shower is complete you will enter your Float Pod.

Once inside you may close the lid to the Pod, leave it open, or even propped. The lid is on hydraulic arms and is simple and easy to open when pushed.

Now lie back slowly and gently. You will float atop the water effortlessly. Release any tension you are holding onto and surrender to the zero gravity experience. Should you notice more discomfort in the initial part of your float do not fret; this is completely normal and is generally due to the removal of typical distractions we encounter. These type of symptoms tend to dissipate throughout your session.

You may choose to enhance your experience with soothing music and/or color therapy with a variety of color options within the pod. Should you desire no sound or light then no problem. You manage the controls within the pod to turn one or both off completely during your session. For the deepest experience we suggest not turning the light or music on. But again this is completely up to you.

Refrain from touching your face during your float session to avoid getting salt into your eyes. We will provide a face cloth and spray bottle in the pod just in case.

You will know your float session has ended once your pod's filtration system, music, and lights turns ON. Water will begin to move within your pod.

Should you doze off and miss your queue to get out, do not worry, we have an intercom system within the pod to gently inform you that your session has ended.

After you step out of the float pod you will take another shower to thoroughly wash the salt off your body and out of your hair.

We have a small Relaxation room available to hydrate, breathe, and acclimate after your float. This area may also be used to quickly style yourself for the day ahead.

We ask that you share your experience in our Float Journal, should you be inspired.

Be sure to drink PLENTY of water. Floating is a serious therapy and hydration is essential.
